At the NFL 2024 season opener at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Thursday, Sept. 5, spectators — including Mahomes, 29 — were asked to shelter in place due to a strong but brief storm that passed over the stadium.
The storm barreled through, bringing down severe rain and lighting before the Chiefs faced off against the Baltimore Ravens. Kickoff was originally scheduled for 7:20 p.m. local time, but has been delayed by 20 minutes to 7:40 p.m.
